The long-awaited moment has finally arrived this year when Lonely Planet will announce the Best travel destinations of 2022. Apparently, Dublin seems to have ranked 7th among the best urban destinations to visit next year.
The Lonely Planet portrays Dublin as one of the most easygoing and friendly cities in Europe and also describes it with these words: “Its already known attractions are integrated with new elements linked to multiculturalism that add to the contemporary charm of the capital“.
The invitation is to visit the city through its architectural and cultural wonders, passing by Georgian Square, Trinity College, without losing the Guinnes Storehouse or even the many pubs that embody the life and people of Dublin.
The American Guide also points out Sweny’s pharmacy, built in 1847 and made famous by the passage of Leopold Bloom (the protagonist of James Joyce’s Ulysse) who went there to buy lemon-scented soap.
The Lonely Planet somehow invites, on the occasion of the centenary of the publication of Ulysses by James Joyce, to follow in the footsteps of the protagonist of the book, set in the Irish capital.
